Our Solar System: Papermation

In class this term we have been learning about Science. Everyone has come up with their own inquiry ‘why’ question to investigate. We have decided that the best way to explain what have learned would be to create a papermation video. You can see an example of a papermation here.

This is the first of our videos finished, created independently by Jessica and Bethany. They chose the question “Why is Venus hotter than Mercury?” Check out their fantastic explanation. Don’t forget to leave them some feedback about their efforts!

What’s up in Week 3?

Firstly, congratulations to all our students and families for the fantastic Student Led Conferences we had last Thursday. I was extremely impressed with the thought and effort each student had put into preparing their presentation and the way they were able to share and communicate their learning to their parents.

Unfortunately, there were some technical issues with the camera last week and our regular news vodcast is unavailable. Keep an eye out for it next week!

Good luck to our footballers Josh, Tai, Liam, Ivory, Luke, Lara and Caitlin who will be heading off to play football in the district final tomorrow. This week, our focus in homegroup maths will be on looking at data and averages, while in maths with 56D we will be looking at volume and capacity. On Wednesday, we are going to begin thinking about and writing scripts for our production at the end of term, while continuing to put together our research projects.

Cha Cha Flash Mob @ Assembly

Inspired by the students in the MLU @ Bellaire Primary, today we gave our very first ‘flash mob’ a go, performing the Cha Cha Slide at our whole school assembly. After rehearsing last week we waited until the music started playing in the middle of assembly and then surprised everyone by jumping up and dancing at the back of the hall.

Unfortunately our jumping caused the floor and camera to shake quite a bit, but you can still enjoy the performance below. Why not leave a comment and let us know what you think!
